Hollywood Chinese is filmmaker Arthur Dong's personal view of
the history of Chinese actors and Chinese themed films in American
cinema. The documentary features clips from over ninety classic
movies, as well as interviews with famous Asian actors and directors,
such as Joan Chen, James Hong, Nancy Kwan, Ang Lee, Justin Lin, and
Amy Tan. It starts with the early silent feature The Curse of
Quon Gwon, following up to the present day. The documentary
premiered at the San Francisco Asian American Film Festival in March
2007 and will be screened at several other festivals as well.
